We aim to educate, coordinate, disseminate, and provide resources to behaviour analysts and other members of society seeking to address human challenges in health, sport, and fitness through the application of the science of behaviour analysis.

Our Mission

The mission of the Behaviour Analysis in Health, Sports, and Fitness Special Interest Group (HSF SIG) Canada is to educate, coordinate, disseminate, and provide resources to
behaviour analysts and other members of society seeking to address human challenges in health,
sport, and fitness through the application of the science of behaviour analysis.


The purpose of the HSF SIG Canada shall be fulfilled through:

 

  • Educating behaviour analysts and other members of society by increasing awareness and understanding of the application of the science of behaviour analysis to health, sport, and fitness.

  • Coordinating and collaborating with other non-profit organizations, healthcare agencies and health, sport, and fitness professionals to maximize our impact on current endeavors.

  • Disseminating information about the practice of behaviour analysis and educational and training opportunities relevant to the practice of behavior analysis in the areas of health, sport, and fitness. Dissemination may occur in a variety of ways, including but not limited to social media applications, publications, and presentations at professional conferences.

  • Providing resources to behaviour analysts and other members of society interested in the application of the science of behaviour analysis to human challenges in health, sport, and fitness, including

    • (a) a professional network and access to educational and training resources (e.g., continuing education events, mentorship opportunities) and

    • (b) financial resources to support research grants in health, sport, and fitness.
